The lines of the 2020 BMW R nineT/5 are classic. The simple single headlight stands proudly at the front of the bike, while the black gaiters on the front forks and the wire wheels add to the vintage charm of the design. Dressing up the bike, even more, is tasteful chrome or silver paint applied to the exhaust, the mirrors, and mechanicals. The real star of the R nineT/5’s look is the exceptional paint job. BMW lays down a beautiful coat of bright Lupin Blue metallic and then adds custom smoke effect and white pinstriping. The seat is black with white accent stitching and measures a low 31.7-inches high but can be fitted with a smaller place just 30.5-inches top if desired. When you’re riding, you’ll have no distractions from the instrumentation, with a simple circular speedometer and nothing more. Powering the 2020 R nineT/5 is an engine with roots that trace back to BMW’s earliest motorcycles, a two-cylinder boxer engine. Don’t be fooled into thinking this is old-fashioned. However, as the 1,170 cubic centimeter engine uses four valves per cylinder and double overhead camshafts to deliver a stout 110 horsepower at 7,750 RPM and 86 lb-ft of torque at 6,000 RPM. Power is routed through the six-speed transmission and a shaft drive system that delivers smooth and immediate response. Modern technology is also employed in the form of BMW Motorrad ABS as well as automatic stability control to help give you extra confidence and safety when riding.
